Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Recycling
Whale IT Recycling buys all types of printed circuit boards (PCBs). Take advantage of a free value assessment and receive the best price.

PCB Recycling with the Highest Returns
Whale IT Recycling has extensive experience in buying and recycling various types of printed circuit boards.
This expertise enables us to accurately assess their value, which is not always easy. By correctly valuing and sorting PCBs, we can offer the best price.
Whale buys all types of printed circuit boards, whether sorted or mixed. Want to know what your PCBs are worth? Send us a photo via WhatsApp. With just a few images, we can provide an instant valuation.

Contact UsClassification of Printed Circuit Boards
We categorize PCBs into general classes, ranging from A+ (very high-grade) to C (very low-grade). This streamlines the recycling process and ensures accurate material valuation, allowing us to offer the best possible price for your PCBs.
PCB Recycling – Specific Types
In addition to these general classifications, we also buy all specific types of PCBs from various devices.
Think of motherboards from computers, servers, and laptops, as well as expansion cards and PCBs from hard drives. This makes PCB recycling simple and efficient.
PCB – Class A+
The highest-quality PCBs we purchase fall into Class A+.
These PCBs come from professional or military (telecom) equipment and have high concentrations of gold and other precious metals.
Often, the gold is visibly present. These premium PCBs contain few heavy copper components, such as transformers or large capacitors.

Motherboards
Whale buys all types of motherboards at competitive prices. We distinguish between different types, such as motherboards from computers, servers, and laptops. Additionally, we assess the generation of the old motherboards. As a general rule, the older the motherboard, the higher its value, as older motherboards contain higher amounts of precious metals. This applies to all types of printed circuit boards as well.

““The older the PCB, the higher the concentration of precious metals.””

CPU – The Heart of Your Computer
CPU stands for Central Processing Unit or Processor. This essential component processes information and performs all calculations within a computer. The better the CPU, the faster the computer. Besides their importance in computing, CPUs contain high concentrations of precious metals, making their recycling value relatively high.
In some cases, we also buy modern CPUs for reuse. Contact us to inquire about the conditions.
Hard Drive Recycling
In addition to old PCBs, Whale also buys other IT hardware components. Hard drives, for instance, can easily be recycled. They contain large amounts of aluminum and stainless steel and include neodymium magnets, a crucial material for the energy transition. Additionally, hard drives have high-quality printed circuit boards.
During regular hard drive recycling, our goal is to recover as many raw materials as possible. However, we understand that hard drives often store sensitive data, which is why we offer certified destruction or secure data wiping. Ask us about the available options.

Ceramic CPUs
Unfortunately, ceramic CPUs are becoming increasingly rare, as they are only found in older equipment. Especially the so-called “Goldcap” CPUs are highly valuable. Among all PCBs and components, these processors hold the highest recycling value. Goldcap ceramic CPUs can be recognized by the gold square in the center of the component.
Whale Recycling buys all types of CPUs, whether sorted or mixed.

Drop-Off Locations – Krommenhoek Metals (Sister Company)
Individuals or businesses who prefer to deliver PCBs themselves and receive instant cash payment can visit our sister company, Krommenhoek Metals. At their two fully covered collection centers in Rotterdam and Wateringen, you can drop off all types of metals and electronics. Krommenhoek offers a detailed list of current purchase prices for old PCBs, components, and other electronics.
Dropping off PCBs for recycling at Krommenhoek Metals is simple and requires no appointment. Both locations are open every weekday and Saturday morning. You can drive directly inside with your car or van for indoor unloading. All materials are weighed on the spot, and your invoice is ready when you return to the counter.

Sorting PCBs
Sorting PCBs can be a time-consuming and complex task. With countless different types available, it’s not always easy for someone unfamiliar with the process to distinguish between them. That’s why Whale Recycling offers a sorting service. We fully sort mixed PCB batches and provide a detailed sorting report, including photos if needed. This ensures that you receive the best price without having to become a PCB expert yourself.
For PCB recycling, it’s also crucial that old PCBs are properly cleaned. Some PCBs contain components with hazardous substances. The most common component requiring removal is batteries, which must be recycled separately. Additionally, some professional telecom equipment contains PCBs with beryllium oxide, a potentially harmfulsubstance if not handled correctly. This is why it’s important to properly process printed circuit boards.
